Hastings Morley died in Washington, D.C., December 9, 1912. He was born in Potter County, Pa., June 28th, 1842 to Hastings and Nancy Hunt Morley, one of nine children, only two brothers James K. and Ephraim of Gold, Pa. survive. Mr. Morley was a vetern of the Civil War having served in Co. D, 136th Regt. N.Y.V. On September 11, 1862 he was married to Miss Caroline L. Rogers of Gainesville, who survives him with a daughter, Mrs. Edith M. Andrews and a son, William K. Mr. Morley for many years has been a great sufferer from all incurable disease contracted in the service. The funeral was held from the home of his daughter on Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock under the auspices of the Grand Army of the Republic, Rev. W.H. Smith, officiating.
