Vance Clark Vaughan, 86,passed away August 29, 2003 at his home in Honoulu, Hawaii. He was born October 2, 1916 in in Malad, Idaho, the son of Thomas Edwin and Carrie A. Clark Vaughan.
Vance grew up in Malad and worked on his fathers ranch. He attended schools in Malad and graduated in 1934. He furthered his education at Utah State where he studied electronics and he became an assitant instructor in radio and aviation.
On Jully 11, 1938 , he married Florabel Tovey. They lived in Logan, Utah and Malad, Idaho and Honolulu, Hawaii. To this marriage there were two children born ... They were later divorced.
In 1941 Vance moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, and he worked a a civilian in the U. S. Navy in the Shore Branch of the Electronics Division. This division served naval shore stations from Hawaii to Japan. Vance, who headed the branch, had logged about 1,000,000 miles just on temporary additional duty to western Pacific islands and the mainland.

On September 13, 1968 he married ... They were married at the Judiciary building in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1969 Vance retired due to health problems and he began building his second home ... on his property on the island. He loved gardening and raising all varietied of fruits, vegetables and flowers. He also had his own beehives.
Vance is survived by wife ... , son ... , daughter .. , four grandchildren; one great-grandchild. He also has one sister, Helen Morgan, of Lewisville, Idaho still living.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and eight brothers.
A private family service was held in Honolulu on September 5, 2003.
