Mrs. Cockman was the daughter of the late Dennis Edney and Kate Jonas Hoover. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl W. Cockman; son-in-law, Zak Gazaleh; brothers, Fred Hoover, Wayne Hoover and Henry Hoover and sisters, Martha Blake and Joan Cavenaugh. She was a member of Wells Chapel Baptist Church and Wallace American Legion Auxiliary, Post No. 156, where she once served as President. Mrs. Cockman of Wallace, died at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center at 84.
