Cecil Bodiford, 90, of Valdosta, GA formerly of Albany, GA. Died August 31, 2022 at Holly Hill Nursing Center in Valdosta. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Mathews Funeral Home. A committal service and Military Honors will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery following the service at 2:00 PM.

Mr. Bodiford was born on December 10, 1931 in Baker County, GA to Clarence and Alice Bodiford. He grew up in Baker County and joined the United States Air Force in 1951. Mr. Bodiford retired after twenty years and returned to Albany, GA. He was employed with the Albany Herald, enjoyed riding his motor cycle and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. He was a baseball fan and loved to watch the Atlanta Braves.

Cecil enjoyed having breakfast and coffee regularly with his retired veterans and friends. Cecil was proud to have served our country and treasured his daily visits with his veteran family.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lovie Lee Haberman, three brothers, JG Bodiford, Lamon Bodiford and Robert Bodiford.

Survivors include his brother, Jerome (Robin) Bodiford of Hahira, GA and many nieces and nephews that he loved and enjoyed visiting.

The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service at Mathews Funeral Home.
