Charles Owens, of Mt. Orab, Ohio, formerly of Ingle, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at his home. He was 93 years of age.

Charles was born on June 9, 1928, in Ingle, Kentucky, son of the late Everett Thedore and Leoine Frances Wilson Owens. He worked with his father on the family farm until he enlisted in the military. He served his country as a U.S. Army Corporal in the Korean War. After serving, he went to work for the Mead Corporation as a dye press operator, where he gave over 28 years of dedicated service. Charles was a member of the N.R.A. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, carpentry, and woodworking. Charles loved playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Dause Owens; his son, Derek Allen Owens, of Florida; his daughter, Beverley Jo Owens-DiCandia, of Mt. Orab, Ohio; his brother, Doyle Owens, of South Carolina; his grandchildren, Rebecca (and Tony) Pegoli, Mandy Whisman, Charles Allen (and Bailey) Owens, Derek Clay Owens and Brittany (and Colton) Fannin; and his great-grandchildren, Collin Whisman, Ethan Whisman, Stella Pegoli, Kinsley Fannin, Evelyn Owens and Jameson Fannin.

Along with his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his brothers, Findley Owens, Ancel Owens, Waldo Owens, Desoto Owens and Luther Owens; and his sisters, Beatrice Owens Pettyjohn, Irene Owens Scales and Charlotte Owens Ricker.

Funeral services are 12:00 noon CST, Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Josh Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery, in Nancy. Military honors will be performed by the Casey County Honor Guard.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m., CST, on Wednesday, until time for services in the funeral home chapel.
