Mr. Brand was a son of Tzvi Moshe (Harry M.) and Vikhne (Victoria) Wittenberg Brand. He came to Bradford at about age 18 and was employed first as a peddler and subsequently opened his own dry goods store. He married Fannie H. Goldstein about 1876. They had no known children who survived. She died in 1918 and about 1920 he married Lena Gabronlitz Melnick. Mr. Brand died as a result of injuries he sustained when struck by a car while crossing the street in front of his store.
