She was raised and educated at the Soonerville School in Lincoln County, Fairland, Oklahoma and graduated from Agra High School. After graduation she attended Central State College, in Edmond, Oklahoma. She taught school one year at Agra elementary and one semester of Home Economics at Davenport, Oklahoma.
On September 15, 1948, Allene Marie Norris and William "Bill" George Matthews were united in marriage at the Agra First Baptist Church. They made Agra there home during the early years of there marriage before moving to the farm in Payne County and finally settling in Cushing in 1957. Allene then began her career at the Cushing Regional Hospital where she worked as a nurse's assistant and a pharmacy tech for fifteen years.
She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda King and husband Butch of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Dietra Giddeon and husband Buddy of Edmond, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Kriston Maker and husband John, Trace Giddeon, Shauna Sadeghy and husband Chris, Bryan King and wife Michal, Brandon King and wife Jamie, and Benjamin King and wife Margo; twelve great grandchildren, Madeline Maker, Grayson Maker, Meredith Maker, Seth Giddeon, Arya Sadeghy, Behnam Sadeghy, Zara Sadeghy, Josue King, Kody King, Kassi King, Kevin King, and David King. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Charles Wendell Norris.
