It is with the deepest sadness that we say goodbye to our beautiful sister, Rose Marie "Tootsie" Karban née Ewing. Rose unexpectantly passed away in the early morning of August 28th, 2022, at the age of 69, at home. She lived in North Carolina with her husband Fred and son Freddy, who lives in Colorado.

Rose loved her family and had a great love for animals. She had a beautiful smile, was fun to be with, had a warm heart, very giving, and was a loyal and loving person with a great sense of humor. Her passing leaves such a huge hole in our hearts, words cannot express how much she will be missed.

Rose was the daughter of James (1917-1982) and Marie Ewing née Christopher (1920-2017), on April 28th, 1953. She was the fifth child in a family that would grow to include six children. Rose was born and raised most of her life in San Diego, California. The family moved to Santa Clara, CA, in the late sixties where Rose attended Buchser High School in Santa Clara.

Rose was my sister-in-law, aunt to my daughter Lacie. I was 15 years old when I met and started dating Rose's brother, Jim, the rest is history. The whole Ewing family took me in as their own and we have stayed close all these years. We lived around the corner from each other, spent a lot of time at each other's homes, walked to school together, I have so many wonderful memories of our time growing older together.
Rose is survived by her husband, Fred, son, Freddy Karban, sisters Honor, Sharon, Patty, brother, Bob , many nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
In death she is reunited with her Mom, Marie Ewing (Christopher), her father, James Ewing and her brother Jim Ewing (1949-2018).

We love and miss you Tootsie ~
