Earl R. Adams, Jr., 84, of Blessing, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in Bay City.
He was born November 30, 1922 in San Augustine, Texas to Earl R. Adams, Sr. and Eva Joyce Brittan Adams. He was a lifelong resident of Matagorda County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bay City. He served with the 5th Army in Europe during World War II and was a retired principal, serving 38 years at the Blessing Elementary School.
He is survived by: his wife, Ruby Jean Adams of Blessing; his son, Mark Richard Adams and wife Babette of San Antonio; and by his grandchildren, Bobbie Carol Adams of San Antonio and Joshua Marvin of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents: Eva Joyce and Earl R. Adams, Sr.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment followed at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing.
Pallbearers were Billy Mann, Joe Rowland, Ronnie Rowland, Frank Farmer, Alfred Nelson and Andy Anderson.
