A U.S. Navy, WW II veteran, he served 33 years in the Air National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Roberts Lee, whom he married on January 19, 1947; children and their spouses, Dan W. & Susan Lee, Mooresville, NC, Robert F. & Amy Lee, Concord, NC, Timothy M. Lee, Huntersville, NC, & Susan Lee & Monte Harrington, Mooresville; brothers William V. Lee, Mooresville and Norman Ray Lee, MD; sisters, Mildred Couch, Betty Ruth Lunsford, Meriel Wilson, Marlene Moore, & Beverly Chappell, all of Mooresville; grandchildren, Amy H. Snyder, Brian S. Harrington, Lora Lee Swindell, M. Andrew Lee, Victoria E. Lee, Kristin Lee Jordan, Dana Lee Potter, & Stefanie Lee; great-grandchildren, Bailey Potter & Madasyn Jordan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. & Blanche Nance Lee, and a brother, Gene Lee.

Interment followed funeral services conducted Saturday, December 3, 2005.
