Mrs. Malinda Bowen, nee Malinda Coatney, was born at Prairie Grove, Arkansas, August 6, 1834, and died February 25, 1925, aged 89 years, five months and 29 days. At the age of 16 she was converted and joined the Methodist Church and remained a faithful member to the day of her death.

At the age of 20 years she was married to William Bowen and to this union there were seven children born, three daughters and four sons of whom only two are living. The deceased from early childhood to her death lived in Crawford County between Rudy and Hobbtown, and during her later years made her home with a granddaughter. The funeral was conducted by Rev. T E Conyear on February 26 and burial was made in the Morrison Cemetery near Hobbtown in the presence of a large congregation of friends.
