On March 1, 1950, in Harrison, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Vernetta Lucille DeVore, and to this union two daughters and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille, on June 18, 2001; three brothers, Bob, James, and Johnny Rogers; and two sisters, Pauline McCabe, and May Smith.
Dale is survived by a son, Jerry Dale Rogers, and his wife, Connie, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; two daughters, Jacqueline Appleberry, and her husband, Kenneth, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Judy Rogers, of Grovespring, Missouri; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don Rogers, and his wife, Evalynn, and Floyd Rogers, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Minnie Looney, of Bristow, Oklahoma, Goldie Appleberry, of Butler, Missouri, and Betty Brown, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, including two dear nieces, Laura and Rita, who took special care of him for the last several days; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Sleeper community, in Laclede County, Missouri. After he and Lucille were married, they made their home on their farm in the Morgan area, and lovingly raised their family. Dale worked as a concrete finisher for thirty-five years, and also raised cattle and enjoyed growing Boot Heal produce for thirty years. He sold his produce items locally in the Lebanon and Marshfield areas.
Dale had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Faith Pentecostal Church in Lebanon. He was a concerned and caring person who possessed a very generous heart.
He was always on the go and loved to work and trade cattle and dogs. He liked sharing his produce with his family and friends. He greatly enjoyed having his family around him and especially liked spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dale was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a good neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the North Liberty Cemetery, near Stoutland. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. and under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials may be made through the funeral home.
