Born June 21st, 1935 in Oregon, IL, the son of Thomas and Zoe McGill. He married Joann Kathryn Davidsmeier and together they enjoyed a wonderful life. He worked at Meadow Gold Dairy and Wilson Paper Company in Galesburg, IL, and for Black's Railroad Transit Service while living in Golden, IL.
He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, trips to Las Vegas or the Riverboats to play slot machines, and spending time with family.
Dick is survived by his wife Joann, son Terry (Cindy) of Frisco, TX, son Lawrence (Sue) of Raleigh, NC, daughter Karen Sue Small (Joe) of Ball Ground, GA, sister Betty Smith of Golden, IL, brother Marvin "Dutch" McGill of Galesburg, IL, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Carole Joan Hart, son Richard "Ric" McGill Jr. (Kris) and eight siblings, sisters Mary (Buck), Nellie (Junior), Vera (Bill), and Joann, brothers Kenneth "Bud" (Grace), Tom (Gerri), Melvin (Joan), Veryle (Patricia) and uncle Kenny McGill.
Interment of ashes and a family celebration of life will be planned in the future.
