Artie Taylor, age 80, of Idabel, Oklahoma, died on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Choctaw Memorial Hospital in Hugo, Oklahoma.

She was born Monday, January 26, 1942 to R.P. and Oma Artie Voss Farmer in Haworth, Oklahoma.

Artie or "Auntie" was a woman of faith and she fought the good fight of faith until the end. She loved to study and read her Bible. Artie loved crafts, all kinds of plants and flowers and was an excellent cook. She was well known for her cinnamon rolls and peach cobblers. Artie had a voice and was not afraid to use it. She fought and fought hard for whatever she believed in. Artie was a loving sister, grandmother, auntie and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Artie is preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Mickey Abney and Tony Abney; her two brothers, Ruben Farmer and Perry Farmer and her two sisters, Betty Walker and Bonnie Harper.

Artie is survived by her baby sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Kenny Ellis of Midland, Texas; two grandsons, Scott Whitaker of Waldron, Arkansas and Jay Abney of Idabel, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren; a special niece, Nancy Dickenson and husband, Dennis of Valliant, Oklahoma; several other nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with Brother Doug McClure officiating.

Interment will follow in the Haworth Cemetery in Haworth, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 6-8 P.M. at Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Dickenson, Earl Walker, Jeff Dickenson, Ethan Dickenson, Charles Citty, and Clifford Citty. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jay Dickenson.
