SPRINGFIELD - The Rev. F. Glenn Creek, 69, of Springfield died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

He was born May 4, 1932, in Bridgeport, the son of Otto and Anna Harness Creek.

He married Kathryn Russell in 1955 in Palestine; she preceded him in death in 1996.

The Rev. Creek was a graduate of McKendree College in Lebanon and Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.

He was pastor of several churches in the Southern Illinois United Methodist Conference, serving in East St. Louis, Alton, Gillespie, Godfrey, Flora, Wood River, Benton and Grayville, retiring in 1995.

Survivors: a daughter, Reta (husband, Don) Jones of Rochester; and a granddaughter.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Sugar Creek United Methodist Church in Chatham, Dr. Thomas Logsdon and the Rev. Dennis Hill officiating.

Graveside services: noon Saturday, Gillespie City Cemetery. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is in charge of arrangements.
