Monday - June 11, 1945
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Owens Thrift , 36 , wife of Owen Matthew Thrift of Waycross (Route 3), was fatally injured Saturday night when an automobile driven by Mr. Thrift collided with a truck on the Waycross-Valdosta Highway just beyond the city limits of WC. Mary was rushed to the local hospital where she had passed.
Ernie Henderson, occupant of the Thrift car, substained cuts and bruises that required hospitalization. Mrs. Mary substained head injuries and severe shock.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at the Turner Church near Enigma, Georgia following burial into the Church cemetery.
