A resident of Dallas since 1933, Eleanor attended Colonial Grade School, Forest Avenue High School, and the University of Missouri. She worked as a medical secretary in Dallas and in San Francisco. She also was a stage actress who acted with Aaron Spelling at SMU in the 1940's and studied with Ed Tankus who was co-founder of Dallas Little Theatre and had acted at Moscow Art Theatre of Stanislavski; with Baruch Lumet and Knox Street Playhouse in the 1950's; at Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, with Morty Sigel of Julliard, and Playhouses in Los Angeles and Chicago in the 1960's; and at Playhouses in Arkansas in the 1970's. In the Dallas area she acted at Theatre Three, KD Studios and Richardson Little Theatre into the 1980's. Among her many roles, she played opposite Hugh Feagan in "Night Of The Iguana".
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Mildred Cohen Bushman; and brother, Billy Bushman. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Poole; sons, Marshall Berman and Laurence Berman; grandchildren, Stephanie Poole and Michael Berman; sisters, Jo Helen Bushman and Sally Bushman; and the father of her children, Robert J. Berman.
