Sherri ran dancing and laughing with joy into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, August 17, 2022, in Lansing, Michigan. She was born to Garnet Luella (Beach) Baker and Howard Ray Baker on August 11, 1945, spent her life in the State of Michigan living most of her life in Lansing, and graduated from Everett High School. She earned her Associates Degree in Commercial Art from Lansing Community College and loved doing various art projects with children and adults of all ages. Sherri retired from the MSU College of Human Medicine after 25 years, helping applicants, students and faculty. She was a member of New Covenant Christian Church (formerly Shiloh Fellowship) for 43 years and participated in "Good Company," an acting troupe. Her siblings are Barbara Ann Goris, Robert Ray Baker (deceased), and Russell Jay Baker. Sherri is survived by her beloved daughter, Heidi; handsome grandson, Drake; special niece, Roxanne Frame and many other nieces and nephews.

To know Sherri was to love her. Despite her under-five-foot stature, her heart was larger than the moon. Sherri loved to laugh and make people laugh. She loved to dance and loved to worship her Lord. Sherri really just loved most everything!! Some of her favorite things to do were reading, praying, acting, crafts with kids, quilt making, spending time with her daughter, grandson and her friends. In 2020 when COVID hit and face masks were in short supply, Sherri handmade over 1,350 masks for friends, family, hospitals, homeless shelters and more. She loved to sew and made numerous baby quilts for friends and strangers alike. Her heart overflowed when she was able to give of her talents to others. Not only did Sherri love well, but she was deeply loved by her many friends who enjoyed her company for decades and will miss her presence in their lives.

Sherri loved to perform, and was part of "Good Company," an acting troupe at New Covenant Christian Church. Her comedic timing was perfect, as was her ability to embrace whatever role she was given. She also hosted several "murder mystery" parties, giving her friends the opportunity to try their acting chops and laugh – a lot! There was no better sound than Sherri's giggle over a good joke or a funny story.

Her most important loves were her daughter and grandson. She loved them both so much and was very proud of them. She took care of her grandson while her daughter worked, taking him to and from school regularly and spending hours teaching him to pick up his toys (and so much more!). She was so grateful for the time they were able to spend together and always enjoyed his visits.

To celebrate Sherri's life, she would encourage others to discover the love God has for them, and to embrace Jesus as their Lord and Savior. And – laugh a lot!

"She confidently trusts the Lord to take care of her." Psalm 112:7
