Marie was born February 12, 1930 to the late Bryson and Edith Woody Buchanan. She was preceded in death by sisters Lucy Silvers and Margaret Davis, brothers Gentry Buchanan, Creston Jim Buchanan, J.B. Buchanan, a baby sister, late husband, Robert Hoilman, step-daughter-in-law, Donna Young and step-grandson, Brian Young.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Billy Young, sisters Rometta Dean and brother Martin Buchanan, step-sons R.L. Hoilman, Wade Bowman, and Johnny Young, step-daughters Shirley Carver and Debbie Smith, step-granddaughters Tammy Hoilman, Paula Holtsclaw, and Jessica Smith, and step- grandsons Jonathan Young and J.T. Smith, and several nieces, nephews, and step great-grandchildren she dearly loved.
Marie retired from Coats of America but enjoyed sewing, cooking, and doing house work along with traveling in her later years. She was a long-time member of Bear Creek Baptist Church. She dearly loved her church family and taught Sunday School to the preschool and young elementary children.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with services following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home. Reverend Bruce Cannon and Reverend Chris Rathbone will officiate. Burial will be at the Bear Creek Cemetery.
