w/o Eli B Burcham (m. about 1878)
m/o 7 known children: James Franklin Burcham, Mary Permilda Burcham, Claude Merle Burcham, Clara Cynthia Burcham, Eva Opal Burcham, Lulu May Burcham, and Robert Enoch Burcham
=====
SARAH MARTHA DELZELL
Was born in Crawford county May 25, 1858; departed this life Nov. 10, 1910, age 52years, 6months, and 15 days. She was married to Eli Burcham, June 1, 1879.
To this union seven children were born - James, Mary, Claud, Clara, Eva, Lulu and Robert. She united with the First Christian church at Porterville in 1891, and lived a faithful Christian life until Jesus called her home.
The sudden removal of such a life from our midst leaves a vacancy and a shadow that will be deeply realized by all the members of the church and will prove a serious loss to the community. Though her suffering was intense she bore it with patience, and sweetly fell to sleep in the arms of Jesus.
She was a member of Eaton District Court of Honor, No. 128, and was one of its faithful members.
She leaves a sister, Mrs. Louise Beam, seven children, five grandchildren, a faithful and loving companion, and a host of friends to mourn her loss.
"Dearest mother, thou has left us
And our loss we deeply feel,
But 'tis God who has bereft us-
He can all our sorrows heal."
The funeral services were conducted Nov. 11, by Rev. A.O. Jacobs at the First Christian Church.
