In 1834 James married Mary E. Carrigan, daughter of Phillip Carrigan.(Most family trees refer to her as being a "Skillington") James and Mary were blessed with four children. Mary was born in 1817 in McMinn Co., Tennessee and died April 14 1842 in McMinn Co.,Tennessee. Mary's resting place has not been found.
In 1843 James married Narcissa White and they were blessed with 11 children. The information I have comes from My GrandMother's book that she wrote about her life, family history & stories

"How sweet it will be for friends and children to meet, Where the flowers never fade and where death never comes and robs us of our loved ones. Sleep on dear friends, we will meet again when Christ descents."
