Mr. Harvey died in St. Joseph, Illinois due to a heart ailment. He had come to Illinois from Rush County, Indiana with his parents at the age of two. He married Mary Jane Spence in 1874 and they lived near Sidney. In 1881 they moved to St. Joseph. He was a lifelong member and a steady worker in the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; four children, two sisters, Mary E. and Sarah E. of Urbana; a brother, Wilbur of Tampa, Florida; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Burial in Mount Olive Cemetery, Mayview, Illinois.
