With a heavy heart we are sad to announce that on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at the age of 83, Barbara (Card) Brewster passed away peacefully in her sleep at her daughters home. She was born September 8, 1938 in Wiscoal, Kentucky to Vaughn & Lillian Sumner-Card.
She was preceded by her husband, Donald E. Brewster, and her infant son Paul Brian Brewster.
She is survived by her beloved poodle, Ms. Elli, sister Marquetta Card (Jeffersonville, IN), children, Dena Standiford (Sellerburg, IN) Sheila Troncin (Sellersburg, IN) Donnetta Weis (Corydon, IN) Dale Brewster (Lisa) (Hickory, NC) and Jim Brewster (Greta) (Ponce De Leon, FL), grandchildren; Christopher Flickner, Courtney Standiford, Tiffany Hakimzadeh, Samantha Garg, Trey Troncin, Michaela Troncin, Jenna Clark, Lori Stroud, Brian and Sam Weis, Kaleb, Jack & Dylan Brewster, Jordan Johnson & Ben Brewster, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Barbara worked for Dr's Pope, Croft, McKain, & Fisher and retired after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the New Middletown United Methodist Church in New Middletown, IN.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with the service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Barbara will be laid to rest at the New Middletown United Methodist Church Cemetery in New Middletown, Indiana.
