Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Scott next to her late husband, Leroy.
Survivors include her son Gene P. Duplechin and his wife, Carla, of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren, Kayla Duplechin, Dustin Blum, LeeAnn Kittrel, Lee Green (Laura), Kimberly Nicole Green, Carl Green, and Zach Whitehead (Michelle); nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews, Bernadette Gardner, Gayle Guidry (Lynn), Glenn Begnaud (Cyd).
She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Domingue; her parents, Cleopha Begnaud and the former Ortha Sonnier; two brothers, John Ray Begnaud (Ivy), and Calvin Begnaud (Beatrice); a daughter in law, Priscilla Duplechin; a niece Edna Begnaud Wilson; a great grandson, Brandon Kittrel.
Lucy was known for her infectious smile and optimistic personality who always put others before herself. She was a valedictorian graduate of Scott High School class of 1944 and was the last surviving graduate of the class. Following high school, she attended SLI for a short period of time before she began her working career. Throughout her career, she was a bookkeeper at Voorhies and Davis, Harry Hebert Homes, and Van Eaton and Romero Realty. In her retirement, Lucy enjoyed reviewing the gifts and cards from coworkers reliving the memories of her past, watching her favorite baseball team play the Rangers on television, and cherished spending time with family and friends where she would make her special desserts.
