The Fredonia Censor; Friday, November 11, 1938:

Cowden, David H. died at the home of his son, Levi D. Cowden in Berry road November 4, after a short illness. Two sons, Levi D. and Roy W. of Ann Arbor and a sister, Mrs. DeForest A. Skinner of Faribault, Mich. survive him. Funeral services were held in the Blood & Larson funeral home Monday morning, Rev. C. J. Wood officiating. Burial in the family plot in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Cowden was born in Arkwright October 26, 1847 but had resided here since his marriage October 10, 1878, to Ida May Litch of Harmon Hill. For a number of years he engaged in farming, later in the real estate business. After retirement he cultivated a small garden, raising sufficient vegetables for his own use and selling the rest.

He was a director of the Citizens Trust Company, attending all the meetings up to September of this year.
