David Keith Pierce, age 76, of Maryville, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022 at Blount Memorial Hospital.
He retired after 37 years from Alcoa and was a member of the 25 year club. He also retired after 20 years from the Air National Guard.
Member of Oak Street Baptist Church. David loved music and playing guitar at Rocky Branch Community Center where he played guitar with many of his friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Roy Pierce and mother, Ica Headrick Pierce; brother, Larry Pierce.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Shirley Pierce; sister, Karen (Darrell) Coppenger; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Pierce, Nellie (Dewey) Sharp, Geraldine (James) Tipton, Clara Hobbs, Kay Mizell; and several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to his sister-in-law, Clara Hobbs who spent countless hours helping with David.
In lieu of flowers, David requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital where he had donated for 31 years, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Funeral service will be held at 7:30 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Miller Funeral Home, Cedar Chapel, Rev. Greg Long and Rev. Keith Ross officiating. Interment will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, TN.,
