Betty May Seelye, 89, of Oakes, ND passed away August 11, 2022 at the Oakes Good Samaritan Society.

She was born January 3, 1933 at Lisbon, ND to John and Nora (Joyce) Fisk. She grew up on a farm near Milnor, ND and attended school there. On December 27, 1952, she married Clifford Seelye at Webster, SD. They made their home in rural Fort Ransom before moving to Guelph. After Clifford retired, they moved back to Fort Ransom and later to Oakes to be closer to family. Clifford passed away on January 31, 2020.

She is survived by her children, Rockie (Gail) Seelye, Janie (Curtis) Bendewald, John (Marcy) Seelye, Rod (Brenda) Seelye, Jessie Seelye, Robert Seelye, Jerry (Kim) Seelye, Rose (Lee) Hicks, Joe (Sue) Seelye, RaNora (Dane) Mueller, Jenny (Carl) Cuhel and Russell (Taunia) Seelye; 30 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clifford, grandson, Cody Seelye, great-grandson Deaken Duane Larson and her siblings, John, Robert, Albert, Archie, William, Gladys and Mary "Dolly"

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Oakes. Her funeral will be Monday, August 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Oakes with a lunch after the service at the American Legion in Oakes. A graveside committal service will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery near Lisbon.
