Richard A. Berg, 57, Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo.
Richard Arlen Berg, the son of Alvin and Glo (Grosfield) Berg, was born in Fargo, on January 14, 1959. He was a life-long Fargo resident. He graduated from Fargo North High in 1977. As a young man he worked at Shakey's Pizza and American Linen Supply.
In 1988, Richard married Trina Allmaras. They lived in Fargo. Richard worked in construction for Regstad Construction and Brian Heide Construction.
On January 18, 2004, Richard had his first date with Peggy Bokn. It was love at first sight. They were united in marriage on October 30, 2014, in Fargo. In February of 2007, Richard began working as a delivery driver for Structural Materials in Fargo. Poor health forced his retirement in December of 2015.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and antiquing. He collected coins and antique glassware.
Richard is survived by his wife, Peggy Bokn, Fargo; three children, Mason (Alexis) Berg, West Fargo, ND, Cody Berg and Hannah Berg, both Fargo; a grandson, Jordy Berg, West Fargo; stepson, Timothy Farley, Fargo; brother, Alvin "Junior" (Sharon) Berg, Fargo; sisters, Ruth (David) Stensland and Anne Snyder, both Fargo; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Adam Snyder.
Visitation will be Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Memorial service will be Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 2 PM, in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo.
