Mrs. Dodson Rites at Rotan

Rotan - Mrs. Alexander Dodson, 79, longtime resident of Fisher County, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in Fisher County Nursing Home, where she had been a patient four years.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rotan Church of Christ with minister Scott Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Trent Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dodson, the former Annie Elizabeth Griffith, was born March 20, 1887 in Ellis County. She married Mr. Dodson in Trent in 1918. She moved to Rotan from Roby following his death about four years ago.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Billy J. Dodson, currently living on an island off the Florida Keys; one brother, Jack Griffith of McCaulley; three sisters, Mrs. Ollie Matthews of Sweetwater, Mrs. Raymond Graham of Dallas and Mrs. Viola Hendon of Rotan.

She was preceded in death by a daughter who died in 1936.
