Mr. Bobby Ray Allen, age 92 of Sarepta, LA was born on May 10, 1930 to Joseph E. and Willie Bigby Allen in Sarepta and went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 7, 2022.

Bobby was a lifelong resident of Sarepta and the oldest member of Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church. He went to work for International Paper Company in 1948 and retired in 1985 where he was known to his co-workers as BR549. Mr. Allen was also a journeyman carpenter and while working for International Paper, he built numerous houses in Webster Parish and surrounding areas. Mr. Allen was also a charter member of Carter Federal Credit Union.

Mr. Allen enjoyed raising cattle, bailing hay, gardening, fishing and spending time with family. He instilled the love of raising cattle and agriculture in his grandsons. He went by many names, husband, Daddy, and Papaw. He taught his family by example to serve the Lord, the value of hard work, and honesty. Mr. Allen was very instrumental in building and maintaining the Sarepta Recreations Ball Parks from 1989 until 2002, where he encouraged and helped shape the love of sports for many children. He was Papaw Bobby to the entire community. Mr. Allen loved attending the sporting events and activities of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was most happy when surrounded by family.
