Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Children's Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Parker, associate rector, officiating. Private burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery at Canyon. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.
Mr. Atkinson was born in Lubbock and moved to Amarillo as a child. He was involved in the cattle business, oil industry and real estate.
He participated in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and was active with the Suicide Prevention and Crisis Intervention and the Mediation Board.
Survivors include two daughters, Jimmie Dell Price and Shearer Faye Kimbell, both of Amarillo; a son, H. Beck Atkinson of Amarillo; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to the Humane Society, 3501 S. Osage St., Amarillo, TX 79103; or Potter-Randall Nutritional Project, P.O. Box 31180, Amarillo, TX 79120.
