PREWITT
John L. Prewitt, a native of Mercer county, died at his home in Lexington on July 30. Mr. Prewitt was well known and much esteemed by many here who knew him and he was liked by everyone. He was brought to Harrodsburg for burial and service was held at the grave in Spring Hill by the Rev. Lee B. Parker, on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Prewitt was born in January 1869, and was married to Miss Mary Alice Hankley, who survives him with three of their five children: Charles Prewitt, Lone Prewitt, and Mrs. Joe King. He also leaves his father, Mr. J. H. Prewitt, of Shakertown, and the following brothers and sisters: George and William Prewitt, both of Shakertown; Mrs. Lillie Duckworth, Lexington, and Mrs. Gertrude Nymon, of Pittsburg, Pa.
