She was a sweet lady who will be missed by many including family who knew her through the years, and those who surrounded her during her last years at Iron County Medical Care Facility.
Jean was born to Edward and Floy (Walker) Carle on July 14, 1929 in Kingsford, Michigan, the youngest of 12.
She married Richard Phillips in 1951 and had one daughter, Sherry. Both husband and daughter have predeceased her.
Jean had a lively personality, loved having parties and lunches, and was always ready with a joke or hearty laugh. She worked in various jobs from telephone operator, to cheese store clerk, to school crossing guard. Her many hobbies included crocheting wonderful pieces, both large and small, as well as crafts, reading, volunteering, crosswords, time with friends and family and walking her cat, Sassy Lady. She also enjoyed occasional trips to the casinos.
Jean is survived by her stepson Glenn Phillips;
and many nieces and nephews.
Her internment will be next to her husband at Milton Lawns Memorial Park in Janesville, Wisconsin.
