Mr. Wassom, a retired laundry Worker, came to Decatur from Chicago about 10 years ago.
On March 11, 1953, he was married to Mrs. Mary E. Cunningham in ceremonies in the office of Justice of the Peace Eli S. Parks with reporters noting that the combined ages of the couple was 150 years.
Mr. Wassom was born in Iroquois County March 8, 1876, a son of John F. and Elsie Pyle Wassom.
He leaves his wife and a sister, Mrs. Dora Miller, Chicago.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home with burial in Maroa Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.
