OBITUARY
Henry Francis Ackerman, 77, died Sept. 11, 1990, at Spearville District Hospital. He was born April 13, 1913, at Windthorst, the son of Frank and Clara Fredelake Ackerman. A resident of Spearville since 1975, moving from Stratton, Colo., he was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Spearville, a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Windthorst, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include: a brother, Raymond, Windthorst; two sisters, Elizabeth Gerritzen, Claflin, and Rose Downey, Stratton, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. Rosary was at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at St. John's Church, Spearville; funeral Mass Thursday, Sept. 13, at 10:00 a.m. at the church, with Father William A. Vogel presiding. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Windthorst. Burkhart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be sent to the church renovation fund in care of the funeral home.
