Beloved father and grandfather. Loving husband of Vivian.

Born in Montgomery, Pennsylvania, USA, he was a son of John and Annie Shuman and was a stepson of Pauline Shuman.

A 1936 graduate of Bloomsburg High School, his undergraduate and graduate work were taken at Wayne State University. An excellent trombonist and singer, he travelled for several years in the 1940s with various big band groups. After leaving the group, he taught instrumental music for 34 years and continued playing music with several other bands and orchestras.

He was a longtime member of the Bloomsburg Fair Association and had also been involved with music productions at the Michigan State Fair.

He was an active member of the Masonic Order, the Consistory, the Eastern Star, and the Shiners, with whom he played the trombone for many years in a marching band.
