Born in Laurens County, she was daughter of the late Rapley W. Burdette and Sallie Woods Burdette. Mrs. Power graduated from Gray Court-Owings High School in 1929 and was retired from Belk Department Store. She also was employed as a seamstress with Laurens Glass. Mrs. Power was member of First Baptist Church for sixty-one years where she was involved in the Ruth Bible Class, C.W.A.'s and Lucia Barksdale Circle Group. She was also a charter member of the Martha Franks Singers and member of the Ann Pamela Cunningham Garden Club.
Surviving are her son, Carrol Power and wife, Dot of Laurens; daughter, Glenda P. Gordon and husband, Lee of Madison, FL; brother, Glenn Burdette of Greenville; two granddaughters, Kelly Huey Pitts and husband, Frank of Clinton and Lynn Huey Crane and husband, Jay of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Corey, Casey and Carey Pitts, Hannah and Chapman Crane; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Gail DeYoung Power and a son-in-law, Chuck Huey.
