Ruth Marie Hoffman, 94, of Owensville, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, at Gasconade Manor in Owensville.

She was born Aug. 8, 1927, to Henry and Anna (Sassmann) Boettcher in Woollam.

She was united in marriage to D.E. (Sam) Hoffman June 15, 1947, at Woollam Methodist Church.

Ruth received her education at the Boettcher School in Woollam. She worked at Debb Shoe Company until she met and fell in love with D.E. (Sam) Hoffman. They met at a dance in March of 1947 and celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary this year in June. In 1954 she and Sam moved into a house that she designed and Sam lives there yet today. She enjoyed gardening, garage sales, cooking, her home and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna; siblings, Charles, Ben, John, Esther, Edna and Herbert; daughter-in-law, Pat Hoffman; and great-granddaughter, Nicole Ann.

She is survived by her husband, Sam of Owensville; sons, John Edward Hoffman and wife Cheryl and David Hoffman all of Owensville; grandchildren, John David, Erika Borgmann and husband Rob all of Owensville, Kristen Morrison and husband Jim of Sedalia, Justin Hoffman and wife Lindsay of Belle, David Wesley Hoffman and wife Ginny of Union, Michele Valley and husband Kelly and Jessica Charboneau and husband Shawn all of Owensville; great-grandchildren, Kymberlyn and husband Justyn of Linn, Kyle and wife Shelby of Independence, Matthew, Zachary, Wesley, Kayla and husband Tucker of Ashland, Hannah, Landon, Logan, MacKenzie, Samuel, Jenna, Kelsey, Coleton and Connor; and great, great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Sophia, Braelyn and Stella.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 8 from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville.,

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.
