Pvt. Miller enlisted on 8/28/1862 at Castleton, Staten Island, N.Y. and was mustered in on 11/18/1862. In it's service his regiment took part in Fort Bisland La. 4/12--4/13/1863, Bayou Vermillion, 4/17/63, the Siege of Port Hudson 5/25--7/9/1863. They transferred to Virginia where they took part in the 3rd battle of Winchester, 9/19/1864, Fisher's Hill 9/22, and Cedar Creek 10/19/64. Pvt Miller was mustered out on 10/23/1865 at Augusta Ga.
