He was born on March 6, 1950 in Lepanto to John Everett and Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Tyler. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, James Brian Tyler; sister, Janie Barnett; brothers, Garry "Tiny" Tyler, Donald "Pete" Tyler, and Larry "Buddy" Tyler; nephews, Brent McKinness and Shawn Tyler and niece, Bridgett Roe.
James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy (Shempert) Tyler; daughters, Tonya and Kacey Tyler; brothers, Charles (Brenda) Tyler; David (Tammy) Tyler; sisters, Mary (Hollis) Gibbs; Angela (Elmo) McKinness; and Shirley (Angie) Tyler, five grandchildren; Dustin (Laura) McElyea, Kalob (Ashley) McElyea, Noah Tyler, Cody Tyler and Mollie Tyler; three great grandchildren; Jaycie, Addie and Maverick McElyea; and a host of nieces, nephews and family friends.
Visitation will be held in Lepanto at Delancey Funeral Home, Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Graveside will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto. Lunch will be served at First Assembly of God in Lepanto. Everyone is welcome to join.
