Nancy Jean Esters, 76, of Fairland, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at her residence. Born June 23, 1946 in Greensburg, she was the daughter of John F. Durbin and Virginia (Turner) Durbin. She married Richard "Dick" Esters on October 28, 1967, and he preceded her on March 26, 2007. Survivors include two children, Coreena "Corey" Esters (husband Ross P. Hughes) of Charlestown Indiana, Richard "Rich" Esters Jr. (wife Leanna) of Frankton; five siblings, John R. Durbin (wife Sharon) of Indianapolis, James L. Durbin (wife Carol) of Nevada, Missouri, Les W. Durbin of Indianapolis, Alice Meyer (fiance Terrance Elvania) of Shelbyville, Deanna Thurston (husband Charles) of Shelbyville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members; two grandchildren, Mathew Esters of Frankton, and David Esters of Frankton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her spouse.

Mrs. Esters was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from Waldron High School in 1964. She was co-owner and bookkeeper of Esters, Inc. from 1967 until the present time. She was a member of Waldron United Methodist Church and Fairland United Methodist Church, chair person for Nurture Committee at Fairland United Methodist Church, Treasurer of the Evening Circle Ladies Group, along with several other offices she held. Nancy loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, and traveled extensively over the last several years. Her favorite trip was to Ireland, and in recent trips she really enjoyed walking the shores of Lake Michigan, rock hounding and beach glass hunting. She enjoyed helping others and was involved in church and Senior Center activities, and delivering Meals On Wheels.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2002 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastors James Moore and Jolita Erbele officiating. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday evening, August 4, 2022, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
