SULPHUR -- Services for Stella Jewell Laughlin, 91 will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Ransom officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Laughlin was born Feb. 20, 1909, in Memphis, Texas, to John and Ida Johnson Calhoun and died Nov. 3, 2000 in Choctaw. She married Henry "Boss" Laughlin Jan. 17, 1925, in Wanette. He preceded her in death in 1963. Also preceding her in death was her brother and a great-great-grandson.

Laughlin grew up in Wanette and moved to Sulphur in 1954. She was the dietitian for Artesian Nursing Home for more than 30 years. She lived in Choctaw for the last eight years with her daughter and was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Geneva Stover, Sulphur, Betty Woody, Choctaw and Barbara Sue Edwards, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; one son, H.L. Laughlin, Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Bearers will be Bo Woody, Emit Stover, Enos Stover, Chad Edwards, Bart Stover, Terry Laughlin and Allen Stover.

Services are under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
