son of Columbus Franklin Cooper and Delilah Ann Keif; husband of Henrietta Ester Moore; father to Arnie Burdle, Ira Cecil, Era Plautt, Hallie May, Claire Nell, and Mildred Moore.

James Franklin is buried with Henrietta, 5 mi. NE of Big Sandy. Mom's research also lists a baby girl twin of Ira Cecil that died at birth, Hallie May b. 2/10/1902 d.9/24/1907 as a result of a fall, and another baby girl that died at birth on 1/9/1907.

J. F. Cooper was a farmer and carpenter, choir director and leader of community singings; sunday School Superintendent of the New Hope Methodist Chruch for 32 years, or from 1910 until the Tennessee Valley Authority bouth the land on which the church stood for flowage easement purposes.
