CLARICE JEAN WEAVER SKEENS OWEN, age 74, of 237 Old Newbern Road, Dublin, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at her home.
Born October 19, 1928 in Lebanon, VA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Jefferson Skeens and Maggie Fogleman Skeens. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Marshall Owen, one brother, Stanley Paul Skeens, sister, Bessie Caroline Skeens, and a step-mother Sara Dishner Skeens. She had 35 years of service at the former Dublin Garment Company. She was a Charter Member of the Dublin Baptist Church.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Joyce Owen, Dublin; Richard and Linda Owen, Texas; brothers, Harry Skeens, Chesterfield Co., VA, Dale Skeens, Dublin; sisters, Margaret Overbay, Salem, Gaynell Wimmer, Fairlawn, Ada "June" Isaacs, Boone, N.C., Florence Chester, Indiana; grandchildren Chad Owen, Stephen Owen, Jeremy Owen, Justin Owen; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday at the Dublin Baptist Church with Dr. David Hoagland officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd, Pulaski.
