Frank Edward Plevka, son of Frank and Anna Shepek Plevka, was born July 25, 1920 on the family farm in rural Washington County, Kansas, and passed away on February 10, 1999 at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, Kansas, at the age of 78 years, six months and 25 days.

Frank received his education in the public schools and graduated from Cuba High School in 1939. He served with the U.S. Army during World War Two. He was united in marriage to Eileen Kathryn Makalous on October 19, 1942 and to this union three children were born Connie Jean, Kervin, and John.

Frank and his wife resided in the Belleville area most of there lives except from 1972 to 1977 they lived in Woodson, Illinois. They returned to Belleville in 1977. For many years Frank was employed by the John Deere Company, first as a mechanic and later as a salesman. He also operated an electronics sales and service business, F. P. Sales, from his home.

Frank was a popular musician in North Central Kansas. An accordion and piano player, Frank, was perhaps best remembered as the leader of the dance band, The Rythm Aces, a group he formed in the early 1960's. Later in his career, Frank performed as a member of the Republic County Accordion Band.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian church of Belleville, Kansas, and served as an Elder and layman at the church. He was a Past Master and member of Belleville Masonic Lodge No. 129 AF & AM of Belleville, Kansas, Ophel Chapter No. 115, Order of Eastern Star of Belleville, Kansas, Baker-Holmes VFW Post No. 3722 of Belleville, Kansas, Robert E. Gordon American Legion Post No. 133 of Belleville, Kansas, Republic County Czech Club, WFLA Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna Plevka, infant daughter, Connie Jean Plevka, one brother, William Plevka.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen Plevka of Belleville, Kansas, two sons, Kirwin Plevka and his wife, Ingrid of Spring, Texas, John Plevka and his wife, Jeanenne of Morton, Illinois; four grandchildren, Olive Plevka of Spring, Texas, Hannah Plevka, Reid Plevka, and Helen Plevka all of Morton, Illinois; one sister, Eleanor Stone of Belleville, Kansas, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13, 1999 at Two Thirty PM at the United Presbyterian Church, Belleville, Kansas, conducted by Robert Hovorka. Masonic Graveside Services by Belleville Lodge No. 129 AF & AM of Belleville, Kansas. Interment will be made at Kopsa Cemetery, rural Cuba, Kansas. Arrangements by Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas.
