Vera held many jobs in her working career, but the most interesting was working in the secret WWII Bomb Making Factory. She finally retired at the age of 80 after serving for over 20 years as the manager of the Galeton Senior Center.
Surviving are two daughters, Barb Karhan (Ron) Engle and Marylou Karhan (Tom) Dake; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Anna Day (Harold) Monk; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Vera was predeceased by her husband, Art Karhan, a son, Albert and a daughter, Lois.
Friends may call at St. Bibiana's Catholic Church on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 10-11am with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11am. Father Tom Brown will be the Celebrant. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton.
