Jean Elizabeth (Moss) Addington, 77, of Cowpens, SC, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born April 17, 1930, in Cowpens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Dewey and Levada (Huskey) Moss and the wife of the late James E. (Cy) Addington.

A graduate of Cowpens High School and Cecil's Business College, she was a retired secretary with Cowpens Elementary School after 34 years of service.

She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Cowpens where she was Sunday School secretary and a former choir member.

Survivors include two sons, Cyrus Addington and his wife Peggy of Spartanburg, and Ed Addington and his wife Janice of Cowpens; two grandchildren, Justin Addington of Spartanburg, and Erin Addington Gaines and her husband Jerry Allen Gaines of Inman; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Allen James Gaines.

She was predeceased by a brother, John Moss; and two sisters, Jo Ann Phillips and Judy McCraw.

Visitation was held 1:00-2:45 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Cowpens.

Funeral services followed at 3:00 p.m. at the Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Aubrey B. Floyd and the Rev. Dr. M. B. Morrow, Jr. Burial was in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Family Life Center Building Fund, P. O. Drawer H, Cowpens, SC 29330.
