PAMPA - Raymond L. Armstrong, 76, died Sunday, March 30, 1997 in Pampa.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. today at Charmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Marcus Brecheen, pastor of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Charmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Mr. Armstrong was born on April 5, 1920 in Hilltop, near Calvin, Okla. He married Virginia Ogle on July 25, 1945 in Borger.

He had been a resident of Skellytown from 1945 before moving to Pampa in 1982. He retired from Cabot Corp. in 1982 after 38 years of service as a ship foreman.

Mr. Armstrong had owned and operated Armstrong Coffee Service, Inc., since 1968.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lee of the home; two sons, Roy Armstrong of Sugar Land and Virgil Armstrong of Sulphur, LA.; one brother, Lewis Armstrong of Marysville, Calif.; one sister, Gladys Helton of Tulsa, Okla.; as well as two grandchildren.
