Marlene Stell, 73, of Spearfish, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at Spearfish Regional Hospital.

Graveside funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 28, 2008 at Black Hills National Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Agan officiating.

Marlene Joann Boehler was born Nov. 18, 1934 in Pollock, S.D., to Arthur and Margaret (Bollinger) Boehler. She grew up in Mobridge, and moved with her father to Sturgis where she was graduated from Sturgis High School in 1952.

She married Kermit Gerald Stell on Oct. 28, 1955 in Sturgis.

Marlene worked for many years as a medical transcriptionist at St. Joseph's Hospital in Deadwood. She and Kermit owned and operated the Best Western Motor Inn and Abigayle's Restaurant in Deadwood (now Best Western Hickok House) until they retired to Spearfish in 1991.

Marlene is survived by her husband,daughter and her spouse,granddaughter,two
grandson's,niece and great-grandson.
