Services Tuesday For Young Indian
Services were held Tuesday at 2:30 for Lincoln Aitson at Saddle Mountain
Baptist church with Rev. Jackson, pastor, and Rev. Vandever of Rainy Mountain in
charge. He was buried in the Saddle Mountain cemetery.
Mr. Aitson was born at Saddle Mountain December 22, 1907. He died March 23 at
the age of 34 in the home of George Hunt. He was baptised at the Saddle
Mountain church July 8, 1917. He has had an active part in promoting the
Carnegie All-State Indian baseball tournament the past four years. He was ill
only a short time.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Aitson; four children, Billie, Jane, Lucius
and Ritchie; his mother, Mrs. Millie Oyebi; two brothers, Franklin and Vernon
Aitson, and a sister, Hettie Oyebi.
